This is an old pic, of Romulus babysitting my niece and nephew when they came to visit us in 2014. Just showing what a sweetie he is; the kids still call him “Romlee-us” and were very concerned that his leg coming off meant a lot of blood and gore. I assured them it was quite controlled and Rom is doing great.
He is, by the way. He’s now 2.5 weeks out from his surgery. I’ve weaned down on the gabapentin and tramadol slowly as with full doses he was sort of just spacing out. He’s been increasing the lengths of his walks daily, and seems very comfortable. He’s quite spoiled about his wet food now, though, as that’s what he’s been getting so he’d take his pills and we are trying with little success to go back to dry…
Chemo was 6 days ago. He had zero side effects this first go round. We are drawing labs next week to see if his counts dropped too low for an every 3 week dose… but I’m more hopeful now that we are gonna make it! And he gets so much attention on his walks now – people just stop and pet him and gush over him constantly. Which he loves 🙂
More as it develops, hope you all are doing well!
Such a beautiful boy! Keep up the good work!

Yay Rom! You are such a rock star, we’re thrilled you handled the chemo so well.
Wow glad he is doing so well!! Keep it up! Sounds like he is on the same schedule as our Honeybear. She is one week post op and chemo on Thursday
